Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

So I recently saw the new Avengers Assemble movie.

Now, I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t a fan of the first movie–as I thought that not only did it lack a certain substance, but there was little story to match the millions of dollars spent on its CGI. Having said this, its sequel boded better, adding an interesting storyline to its numerous and extensive action scenes. Being a Film student, I am always first to critic films and compare them, but having said this I may have succumbed to this crowd pleaser. With an A-list cast performing to a high standard, it is clear that along with the notable expense of the marketing for this blockbuster, it achieved what it set out to do.

One scene in particular caught my eye. This is the almost continuous shot of all action heroes’ fighting against the ‘spawns’ of Ultron in the wreckage of a church. This offers the audience a visual delight in the sense that there is simply a LOT to look at; not only this but it allows the audience to appreciate the amount of work that goes in to making such a flawless, lavish Hollywood movie.
